Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Revyou, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the platform.

Revyou reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. User Accounts

To access most features, you must create an account using email and password, Google, or Apple sign-in. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.

• You must provide accurate information during registration.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• Revyou may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

3. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create on Revyou, including reviews, ratings, comments, list collections, activity posts, reposts, and custom cover images. By posting content, you grant Revyou a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote your content within the platform.

• Content must not be illegal, abusive, hateful, or infringe on others' rights.
• Reviews and comments should be honest and relevant to gaming.
• Spoiler content must be properly tagged using the spoiler feature.
• Revyou may remove content that violates these guidelines without prior notice.
• Custom cover images must not contain copyrighted material, NSFW content, or offensive imagery.

4. Prohibited Conduct

By using Revyou, you agree not to engage in any of the following activities:

• Data Mining/Scraping: Using bots, crawlers, scrapers, or other automated means to access, extract, or index data from the platform without explicit permission.
• Manipulation: Creating fake accounts or engaging in coordinated efforts to artificially inflate or deflate game ratings (review bombing).
• Harassment: Posting hate speech, harassment, threats, or discriminatory content toward other users.
• Spam: Distributing unauthorized advertisements, promotional materials, or spam.
• Import Abuse: Using the bulk import system to exceed quotas, import fraudulent data, or circumvent rate limits.
• Platform Circumvention: Using fake or stolen platform credentials (Steam IDs, PSN IDs, Gamertags) to import data from accounts you do not own.

5. Intellectual Property

Revyou's name, logo, design, and original code are the property of Revyou. Game metadata, covers, and related information are sourced from IGDB (Internet Game Database) and remain the property of their respective owners.

All game titles, trademarks, and associated assets belong to their respective publishers and developers.

6. Copyright and DMCA Policy

Revyou respects the intellectual property rights of others. We expect our users to do the same. If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed by a user on our platform (e.g., unauthorized use of illustrations as avatars), you can report it to us.

Upon receiving a valid takedown notice, we will remove or disable access to the infringing material and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

7. Third-Party Services

Revyou integrates with third-party services to enhance your experience. By using these integrations, you also agree to their respective terms:

• Steam: Library sync uses the Steam Web API. Your Steam profile must be set to public for data import. Revyou reads game ownership, playtime, and achievement data.
• PSN: Trophy sync uses the PlayStation Network API. Your PSN profile and trophy list must be set to public. Revyou reads game library and trophy data.
• Xbox: Achievement sync uses the Xbox Live API. Your Xbox profile must be set to public. Revyou reads game library and achievement data.
• Google & Apple Sign-In: Authentication is handled by these providers under their own privacy policies.
• IGDB: All game data is sourced from IGDB, operated by Twitch/Amazon.
• OneSignal: Push notification delivery service, subject to OneSignal's terms of service.

8. Data Retention and Activity Lifecycle

Certain data on Revyou has defined retention periods:

• Activity feed entries are automatically removed after 180 days.
• Import quotas: 5 imports per month, 500 games per import, 2 MB maximum file size. Quotas reset on the 1st of each month (UTC).
• Platform syncs (Steam, PSN, Xbox) occur automatically once per day for connected accounts.

Account data, game library, reviews, lists, and social connections are retained indefinitely until you choose to delete your account.

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Account deletion is permanent and removes all associated data including your profile, library, reviews, comments, likes, followers, lists, activities, and notifications.

Revyou may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in abusive behavior.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Revyou and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Revyou shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

Revyou is not responsible for content posted by users, third-party service outages, or data loss beyond our reasonable control.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Use at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform. Your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
