• Gaming data: game ratings, reviews, comments, list collections, game statuses, custom cover images, and favorite games.
• Social data: follow relationships, activity feed interactions, likes, reposts, and comments.

Information collected automatically:

• Basic usage data for service functionality (e.g., session management).
• Device and browser information for compatibility and security.
• Profile view records: which users visited your profile and when.
• Activity feed data: posts, reposts, and interactions (automatically deleted after 180 days).

Information from third parties:

• Steam: game library, playtime, ownership data, and achievements (only when you provide your Steam ID and your profile is public).
• PSN: game library and trophy data including Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum trophies (only when you provide your PSN ID and your profile is public).
• Xbox: game library and achievement data (only when you provide your Gamertag and your profile is public).
• Google/Apple: basic profile information (name, email) used for authentication.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data exclusively to operate and improve the Revyou platform:

• Provide core features: game logging, reviews, ratings, lists, achievements, and social feed.
• Display your profile and activity to other users based on your privacy settings.
• Sync your game libraries when you opt in to platform integrations (Steam, PSN, Xbox).
• Send in-app notifications and push notifications about follows, comments, likes, and activity updates.
• Improve platform performance and fix bugs.
• Track profile views to provide you with visitor insights.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

Revyou uses essential cookies and local storage for:

• Authentication: keeping you signed in across sessions.
• Preferences: storing your language and theme settings.
• Functionality: maintaining session state and security tokens.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics that profile your browsing behavior.

4. Third-Party Data Sharing

Revyou shares data with third parties only as necessary to operate the service:

• Steam Web API: your Steam ID is sent to retrieve your game library, playtime, and achievements. No other personal data is shared with Steam.
• PlayStation Network API: your PSN ID is sent to retrieve your game library and trophy data. No other personal data is shared with PlayStation.
• Xbox Live API: your Gamertag is sent to retrieve your game library and achievement data. No other personal data is shared with Xbox.
• Google/Apple: authentication tokens are exchanged during sign-in. We store only the minimum data needed for login.
• IGDB: no personal user data is shared with IGDB. We only query their game database.
• OneSignal: device tokens are shared for push notification delivery. No personal content or profile data is shared.
• Cloud storage: profile images (avatars, banners, custom game covers) are stored on secure cloud infrastructure (AWS S3).

Your public profile, reviews, and lists may be visible to other Revyou users and accessible via direct URL.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
• Authentication uses secure tokens with expiration.
• API communication is encrypted via HTTPS.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

• Account data: retained until you delete your account.
• Activity feed entries: automatically deleted after 180 days.
• Password reset tokens: expire shortly after use and are then deleted.
• Import quotas: reset on the 1st of each month (UTC).

When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed, including your profile, library, reviews, comments, likes, followers, lists, activities, and notifications.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: view all your data through your profile and library pages.
• Export: download your game library as a CSV file at any time.
• Correction: edit your profile, reviews, and ratings at any time.
• Deletion: permanently delete your account and all associated data through profile settings.

Account deletion removes all data including: profile, library, reviews, comments, likes, followers, following, lists, activities, and notifications. This action is irreversible.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform. Continued use of Revyou after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
