Producer Ismail Merchant (Noormohamed Abdul Rehman) of Merchant Ivory Productions, is known for The Remains of the Day, A Room with a View and Howards End. Merchant Ivory Productions was a remarkable partnership with the American director James Ivory that lasted for more than 40 years and 40 films, and included screenwriter Ruth Prawer Jhabvala.
